Not-So-Good News From the South

James L. Hart of Tennessee is running for Congress in the 8th District of Tennessee. From the article:

He is an unapologetic supporter of eugenics, the phony science that resulted in thousands of sterilizations in an attempt to purify the white race. He believes the country will look "like one big Detroit" if it doesn't eliminate welfare and immigration. He believes that if blacks were integrated centuries ago, the automobile never would have been invented.

He is running unopposed in this week's Democratic primary.

(pause for audience reaction)

Just kidding. He's a Republican. To their credit, the Tennessee GOP has found a write-in candidate who's familiar with the 20th Century.

I still don't comprehend that whole immigration-grudge so many people have. How do they think we got here in the first place? One of my great (to the nth power) grandmothers didn't just appear, she had to plead to Bill Penn and the queen of England for some land. Fortunately, they took pity on her, and now, a couple hundred years (with numerous sexual encounters interspersed within) later, I'm an inhabitant of the earth.

Dude, when are you going to weigh in on the Sox? No Moah Nomah? Everyone said they'd trade him, but all we get is Cabrera, Mienkiewicz and Roberts? Doesn't seem right to me. Is this season in the tank already?
